We're having, like, a real live winter! Aren't we on snowstorm G now? H comes in tomorrow. H is for happy, hanging on and hardly any time to melt before the next storm. H is also for haven't had the gumption to take down the Christmas decorations yet. Remember the Grinch across the street from my house? His red hat has been peeking out of a snowbank for 3 weeks now. There is a rope tied from the hat to the basketball hoop - sort of like an anchor in the vast sea of snow. With the melt off warming trend global warming slightly warmer temps last week, little metal cages of reindeer started peeping out. And, so's not to lose the spirit entirely, a neighbor still has the red lightbulbs in his outdoor garage lights. I think he's lost it - two shovelings ago he was mumbling inside his parka something about packing up the kids, a few cuss words and Florida.
The epitome of holiday enjoyment? I passed by one house the other day and did a double take, the best I could being in the driver's seat: Lots of pink - hearts and stuff - planted out in the snow amongst the tilted over reindeer and santas encrusted in icebergs in someone's front yard.
Next we'll see a few of these sticking out of the little reindeer heads...
And then these piled on top of the dirty and graying snowpiles...
the meltdown means more ice during the next storm...
we have a 8 inch ice drop off from our street to the pavement
bring it on.. storm Q
