No one has been able to answer me this yet. Occasionally I send an email and get an Automated response bounced back to me that says something like this:
Out of Office AutoReply: Let's Do Lunch
Does this mean that they will eventually get my email when they return?, or that this is a sort of SCUD Missile Repellent and all Incoming gets repelled - bounced back? Will they ever see it upon their return because maybe it goes into a folder specially marked "AutoReply DimWits to Answer"?
When I get one of these there is that subtle little jerk back of the head like I just got an unfriendly slap in the nose. How dare you attempt to send me an email; I am so important that a computer automatically responses letting the world know that I am some place more important other than at my desk with my hand on the mouse breathlessly awaiting your email.
Do I park this email in a special folder named "Remember to check if So and So is Back IN the office to see if we can do Lunch" folder? How will I know that this In-Duh-Vidual eventually gets the message? What if it is something important like "Your 401K expires tomorrow and you forfeit all investments if you do not respond immediately"? Gosh, did that get Repelled back to HR? Did they do the little head jerk?
Too many questions and clearly I still don't know the answer to this dilemma.
Out and about
Out loud
Out of touch
Out of sorts
Out to lunch
Out in left field
Out on the town
Outstanding
Out of time . . .
3 strikes you're out.
